I have lived in New England all of my life and am constantly inspired by it. My watercolors usually involve local landscapes, or still lifes of color and shapes I am drawn to. I may start a painting outdoors, then take photos to continue the work indoors. My mixed media collages are an expression of my love of color and design. I find my creative juices really flow when I’m making papers for them, and making decisions about placement. Most of the papers I use in my collages are handmade by me, with designs and textures that please me. Symbolism often comes into play, and is used to express my emotions and interests. I will be making these collages into gyclee prints, if there is enough interest. Please contact me with any questions. Other mediums I have used over the years are acrylics, pen & ink, and printmaking. They have all expanded my means of expression. All the paintings come framed. I have taken painting classes all of my adult life, and feel art is a life long journey. I have taken classes at the Worcester Art Museum and the Fitchburg Art Museum, and private classes from Charlotte Wharton in Worcester. I am a member of the Leominster Art Association and the New England Watercolor Society. I have received many ribbons for my work and look forward to exhibiting in new venues. |
